We curate our Performance Fabrics carefully to bring you a balance of patterns, textures, and solids from Maharam and respected partners like CF Stinson and Momentum—at a wide range of price points to suit any project.

You’ll find current textiles, new innovations, and technologies, including PVC-free, solvent-free, and recycled content options. Every selection is compatible with our products and processes, including our high level of tailoring and attention to detail. Most options are GREENGUARD certified, and all performance fabrics are covered by our Five Year Warranty.

Non-Woven Upholstery

Appropriate for high-use zones such as patient rooms, treatment areas, or seats and headrests, these fabrics are made of vinyl, polyurethane, or silicone. Vinyls, available in rich colors and unique textures, are a top choice where fluid spills are common or frequent cleaning and disinfecting are needed, and they are priced affordably. Our PVC-free polyurethanes also provide excellent moisture resistance or fluid barriers, but unlike vinyl, they have a softer, more sophisticated look and feel.

Durability: Minimum of 50,000 double rubs for long-term performance.
Bleach resistance: Minimum of 10 percent bleach cleanable to endure harsh healthcare cleaners.
Ink resistance: Several options are ink-resistant.

Impermeable Woven Upholstery

This category includes impermeable Crypton® and Woven Agion®, surface-treated with anti-microbial agents to inhibit the spread of infection in healthcare environments. All fabrics in this category are also GREENGUARD certified for indoor air quality.

Durability: Minimum of 50,000 double rubs for long-term performance.
Bleach resistance: Many are bleach-cleanable.

Woven Upholstery

Often used in Welcome and Waiting Spaces, these solution-dyed nylon fabrics are highly resistant to discoloration and fading. Most of them include a pattern, letting you create a greater visual impact in the healthcare environment. The collection has a strong focus on recycled content.

Durability: Minimum of 50,000 double rubs for long-term performance.
Bleach resistance: Minimum of 10 percent bleach cleanable to endure harsh healthcare cleaners.

  • CTB 133

California Technical Bulletin 133 (CTB 133) is the world’s most rigorous upholstered furniture flammability test. It is the foundation for open-flame furniture testing requirements in most states and the basis for international testing standard ASTM E-1537.

Nemschoff was the first in our industry to build a CTB 133-compliant test facility, and every product we sell has since been tested.
